My name is Marian Varnedoe Letnaunchyn. I am a native of Hinesville, where I grew up in the nurturing environment of The Hinesville First United Methodist Church. My life’s journey as a military spouse began in 1989, when I married Bohdan Letnaunchyn. We had the opportunity to travel and live in many places throughout Europe as well as the United States completing our tour in Northern Virginia. During this period (1997), we brought a wonderful life into the world; my daughter Elise.
Upon retirement, we decided it was time to return to my roots and move back to Hinesville. In 2006, I started teaching at Hinesville First United Methodist Preschool, and eventually took over as director in 2008. I have over 30 years’ experience in the education field. As a preschool director for over 16 years, it has been an honor to work with some amazing staff to create a safe place for children to laugh, learn, play and pray.
To work in a world of a child’s imagination, creativity, and wonder is the best job ever! There is never a dull moment. There is always amazement, an unexpected joke, an interesting question. Preschoolers definitely say the darndest things. It is a joy to watch them learn and grow! I look forward to greeting families each morning at drop off to include the family pet that is along for the ride. The support from our community of parents has been incredible.
Aside from work, I enjoy playing fetch/frisbee with my dog, Bonnie. In the evening, I relax and unwind watching the birds, feeding the deer, and just enjoying God’s creation as the sun sets. I cherish my weekends spent with my daughter, Elise who lives nearby in Savannah.
